I'm very good at playing videogames, especially NES ones. The thing is, I suck at beating them! I didn't beat ONE game (w/ out cheating) last Millenium! So I set off on a quest to beat all, or at least one, of my Nes games. This page will keep you informed on each and every game that I beat, when, where, and how long.
Metroid
Ahh yes the best, hardest, most secretive and most classic game. I had a couple of maps (from the Official Nintendo Players Guide and a Nintendo Power) so I took up the challenge. It was Christmas vacation.. I had time on my hands. After about a week I had charged my way through Ridley and Kraid to the very smart Mother Brain. It took me a couple hours and many deaths to finally beat it. I got the lousy "hand in the air" ending, but I was still VERY happy.
Rygar
Rygar.. a quite awesome game. Gotta love that diskarmer. My handy Nintendo Players guide helped me through, but the game was far from easy. Within three days I had made it to the big ugly final boss. It was right before going on a vacation, so naturally I left my Nes on. When I got back I smashed the boss ( on the 5th try :D)
Mega Man 2
Yeah, every says MM2 is the easiest game ever. I thought so too untill I got stuck on the Dragon boss. So a few Saturdays I poped (pooped?) in the cart and beat that %#@@$@$ dragon. The rest of the stages @ Wilys castle were easy. Same thing with the bosses, since I had all the right weapons. The ending is definatly worth beating the game for, very funny.
Castlevania 2
Castlevania 2 was originaly my least favorite game in the series. It was way too different from the others. Plus, I had no idea what to do. Just a few weeks ago in the mail, though, I recieved the original Castlevania and really got into the series. So I picked up a good Faq and started on the quest. I was suprised how involving and interesting the game was, so.. One day later (and 16 hours on the game's clock) I'd creamed Dracula and saved Translyvania. If you have this game, beat it!
