Fun things to do with your NES

Sound: Try putting headphones on and hooking em up to your TV. It makes it seem kinda like surround sound, and doesn't bug other people with annoying blips and bloops. Also great for all nighters when you wanna hear the sound but don't want to wake anyone up :) If you're not into headphones, you can always try stereo speakers, or even surround sound! I can see it now... state of the art surround sound speakers on a mono 8- bit NES!!
Video: One really neat thing you can do is make videos of you playing your NES games! It's pretty easy too, all you need is a NES set up (TV, game, NES, etc...) and a VCR. Make sure the VCR is hooked up to your TV (it should already be) and get a blank tape. Pop in the tape, fire up your NES and start playing. Hit record and that's it. Record yourself beating a game, or just try it out for fun. This is also a great way to make tip videos for friends. If you have a video card you can put the film onto your computer, then onto the web! Do you like the cutscenes in the Ninja Gaiden series? Record them all in a row onto a tape! Imagine how cool that would look. And their are a ton of other things you can do by taping NES.
Connecter: If you clean your games and NES over and over and they still don't work, you might need a new set of connector pins. This is the thing that connects game chips to the NES guts. After awhile it just gets worn down, and games stop working. A new one should make the NES good as new! How do I get one, you ask? First, check out MCM Electronics' webpage; http://www.mcmelectronics.com . Fill out a form and they'll send you free cataloges. Once you get the catalog you can order it. Oh, and while you're ordering, you might as well get a security bit, they open up NES carts.
SNES & NES together: Yes, you can play your Super Nintendo and your regular Nintendo at the same time on the same TV! It doesn't produce the clearest picture (heh, I'm not exagurating the slightest bit) but it is fun to try out. Hook up your NES to the TV using an RF adaptor. Now get your SNES, with multi-out, but don't hook to the TV. Ya know how NES has A/V ports? Hehe, hook the SNES A/V cable into your NES (I guess this makes it Super :), and with games in both, fire up everthing. On the screen you should see your NES game title screen, and a transparent, fuzzy, B&W Super NES game screen. Can you play two games at once???
