My NES Arcade

Ever since I saw that Nintendo Mini arcade, I've wanted to make my own. It would be so awesome, my very own arcade in my room. No pesky "can I borrow a quarter?" kiddies here. Maybe I would put it in my garage and overcharge the niehgbors... Anyways, it would be awesome. I have plenty of modification ideas brewing in my head. After all, I DID use to own the Ms. Pacman tabletop (i like bragging bout that). If I can ever get my hands on a multicart, that would sure help. Of course the main processor would be a NES, but I would make extra jacks for my SNES, maybe an Atari or 2, and some sort of old computer, with a slideout keyboard, and trackball, running DOS. I would make a working coin slot, and carry around the key.

How do I know all this stuff? I've owned an arcade before, and know someone that fixes these things i plan on building it with my personal skills and ideas. Theirs a workbench and such in my garage, I'm taking welding tech next trimester, and have friends that will help lots. Think of it as the ultimate arcade/project.

Maybe I can get lots of more skills by doing other, smaller projects. like making a SNES controller work for a NES, getting a Famicom adaptor, Exange a ROM to a cart, etc. Plenty of information is available on the net. Maybe even a portable NES, like a GameboyNES. One really good idea (IMHO) is to actually have a cartrige slot in the side of the arcade, so I can pop in a NES game with having to open the whole friggin thing. The other way would be to get one of them retail NES things that toot has, with the 10 cartrige connectors. Also (i sure have lotsa ideas) would be to use the DOS computer on board to run my own little operating system, basically a startup screen to select what game I want to play. The top part of it will have a little neon light shining on the screen. I'll use whatever screen I can find, Commodore 1084 sounds good tho.

Oooh this will be so awesome when I'm done. :)
