PC Windows 9X / ME

WinDepth (by Bio_100%)

A fun but small Japanese game for Windows, you control a battleship bombing nine kinds of hells out of submarines, attack subs, and eventually, sea monsters! The music is good, and you can check out the world's highest scores right from the game and send yours in as well! Definitely worth checking out at a meagre 336K. Get it below.

WinSock Chess (by Daryl K. Baker)

A small, fast, friendly network chess program that lets you connect over any TCP/IP connection. It has fully customizable colors and runs fine online or over a LAN. Quick to download, quick to e-mail, it's a great way to play chess against anybody in the world.

Mega Drive / Genesis

HardWired (beta)

This beta by Zyrinx shows some of what the Genesis could really do if truly encouraged! Fantastic video sequences and excellent use of parallax and line scrolling really make this game a must-see! Fluid action both in combat helicopters and on foot, as well as a large play area. The final version unfortunately had all the cool animations removed, but this one has them. Give it a shot!

Zero Tolerance

Zero Tolerance is a really cool first-person shooter where you play out a variety of search-and-destroy missions with several playable characters. When this baby came out, a lot of people put away their copies of Doom and reached for their Genesis controller instead. This is a complete game that was pretty popular, but Technopop has, in a fit of coolness, made it freeware! If you're a fan of 3D shooters, this is definitely one to check out. Also, if you have a copy device such as a Double Pro Fighter X, you can take advantage of a rare feature -- Zero Tolerance is one of the few games to ever take advantage of the Genesis's netplay support.

Beyond Zero Tolerance (beta)

Beyond Zero Tolerance is considerably more difficult than the first game, but does include some new weapons and the animation is a bit smoother as well. This one also supports the Genesis's networking. If you liked Zero Tolerance, this one is certainly worth the download.
