Extensive checks have been carried out at costs of millions of dollars to ensure that the SW Hawker Hurricane fleet is Y2K compliant. Unfortunately some of the pilots are past their use by date. They will have an upgrade to remain fully compliant. So barring catastrophic failure the SW fleet will be flying at 12.01am Jan 1st, although most of the pilots will be fueled by alcohol . We have decided to install diesel engines so others can keep up with our super fueled pilots.

Well there goes Christmas for another year. I got the presents I wanted, beer and smokes. Which probably accounted for my atrocious flying last night. Also accounts for this strange headache I've got today.

Well it's Christmas Eve here in Aussie, people rushing around doing their last minute shopping, stocking up on alcohol.
Our fridge is already looking quite healthy in the beer department.
RAF have allowed us to host the B-17f, I think this would have to be the best paint job I've seen on a bomber, so go download it. While I enjoy flying the B24 more, I'll be flying this one simply because it looks so damned good.

Well the zone is becoming a real family place. WA_Kaze arrived with WA_Mrs_Kaze, followed by WA_Kazes_Kid, not long after that WA_Kazes_Dog logged on. He was then followed by BadJoints cat ,OJ. Might have to start up a creche and a boarding kennel on the zone.

Got a letter from Telstra (Aussies biggest telco) today, asking whether I want to test a new type of internet telephone. You know, one of those phones where you can make phone calls, check your email, surf the net etc etc. Suppose seeing as it's free for 3 months, I'd better have a play with around with it. I'd be interested to know whether anyone else has one of these and what they think of them.

When we log onto the zone, there is a very good chance that we have to download even more zone files after  "zone maintenance" What I've gotta wonder is whether these are files are neccessary or whether we are in fact downloading more lag. Logic says, that if you need to download more files, they are meant to be fixes etc, but it seems that they make no difference, and the zone gets even more laggy.  Anyone know the answer to this??

I've put up a missions page for those who wish to write missions for MultiSwap. There's one already uploaded, so make sure you grab it. The zone seems to have experienced a resurgience in popularity, keep getting Ridge Runners full when I try to log on. Not sure whether it is because of MultiSwap or because Kaze is back on the zone and people want to shoot his ass down. lol Hmmm I think it is the latter.

I've always thought bomber runs were good fun and now with being able to run them with flak, quite exciting. I guess Kaze feels different, there we were in a bomber run last night and what did Kaze do? He went to sleep. Checked on him 3 hours later, yep, still there, still asleep. Only guy in furball, I think his new girlfriend must be wearing him out. Seems to me he needs to come back to the zone for a break otherwise he might end up with another broken joystick . LMAO
 I decided to try using go.to's redirection facility, what happens is you use their service to change your website address. This sites address is http://underworld.fortunecity.com/reflex/204 Rather a long address, so I set up one with go to, which is now http://fly.to/sw-squad. Nice and short, easy to remember. Well I can't say I'm happy 'bout the service so far. A lot of people are getting server not found messages and are being asked if they wish to register MY address. Not sure whether this is a marketing ploy or a genuine problem, will keep you posted.

Combafs.com has chosen Southern Warbirds as its "Squad of the Month"  Not sure why, I mean we're just a bunch of misfits who can't fly for the proverbial   lolol. Anyway, we accept with appreciation.
December 1st, the start of the drinking season. Guys, don't drink and fly , get your Mrs behind the controls of the trusty hawker. And remember "Now's the season to be jolly, tra la la la laa la la la laa." So hopefully we will see Santa on the zone, if not maybe some of his elves, dispensing presents and alcohol, and maybe a few mods for the newbies who keep popping up asking where they can download them.
