Up until this point, little if anything was known of the history of Ruger. The following information is sketchy at best, but is all that I could find.

Soon after the end of the Great War, our Government realized that it was imperative that we maintain a ready pool of fully trained combat pilots that could be called upon on a moments notice in time of great need. Certain members of the Military also realized that these pilots, if they were to be fully effective would need to eat, sleep, and live combat tactics. And so, sometime in early October of 1924 a new training outfit was formed. This outfit would be called "The Babyface Training Squadron" and Ruger would be one of it's first graduates.

As National interests were at stake, Congress placed no constraints on this group, and they were given only one mandate; Find the best raw material from among the citizens of this country, and produce the best damned warriors possible.

Apparently, the group leaders took their mandate to heart, and felt if they were to succeed, they would need to mold these candidates as early as possible. Testing was performed nation wide in the public schools, and those children, (and children they were) that scored highest were removed from their families, and sent to a special training facility. The training and testing schedule in this center was so rigorous that most would be washed out in the first week. Ruger was among the few that stayed. There is not much that I could document about what actually transpired in this center as all of the documents have been sealed, and as of this writing, no date has been set when they will be made public. In fact, I could find no confirmation that the project actually went forward. It was only by luck that as I was interviewing Rugers mother, she recalled an old photo that was supposed to have been taken upon her sons graduation from basic training. That photo is attached to this file.

Our government denies knowledge of any such project, and claims that the photo is a fake. Rugers mother swears it is real, and I believe her. The investigation continues.
