Legend of the Evil Skulls

Once upon a time there was a squadron of pilots that flew in RR Europe. They flew and flew and flew for several months and became very well-known amongst the other pilots there. One day, they decided that they had flown there long enough, so they migrated to FR Europe and began running missions there on a permanent basis.

One day, on a whim, some of the pilots flew in FR Pacific to see what it was like. They even flew a mission there as the official squadron night. Many of the pilots liked it because it was a good change from the European scenery, and several more missions were flown there. But there was a problem. The FR Pacific theatre never really had very many pilots in it, and whenever the squadron flew there they outnumbered the enemy by a 5:1 ratio. The squadron's pilots were falling all over each other just trying to get after one or two enemy pilots and it wasn't very fun.

A squadron pilot named Muhr decided to log onto AOL using a sub-account and he would play the role of the enemy on non-squadron open nights just so that the rest of the squadron would be able to practice flying their Pacific planes. A few other pilots joined in; Pancake, BaMa, and Bish to name a few. They adopted a special call sign that read Evil (Name) <Skull Aggressor> with the CPID of Exxxx (where x is an abbreviation of the regular CPID). EMuhr, ECake, EBaMa, and EBish became the terror of the Pacific, except on squadron nights when they flew as the regular squadron pilots.

The Evil Skulls didn't fly missions, they just went out and flew and fought whomever was already up and flying. Sometimes they would change countries just to balance out the pilot population. It was a squadron based on pure dog fighting. No ground targets, no command decisions, no worries; just fly, fly, fly.

And then one day there was a fracture in the squadron leadership and some of the pilots left the squadron. Some of the Evil Skulls had enjoyed the Evil Skull concept so much that they got together and formed a new squadron using the Evil Skull concept but under a different name. They became the "Sheep Mounties" and attached *SM* to the end of their names. They were a small group of pilots but that was just fine with them. They weren't interested in really being a serious squadron anyway. They just lived for the flying and didn't really want the hassles of a regular squadron administration. It was a good formula for them and they stuck with it. Even today, you can find an *SM* or two tooling around the skies with kill placards painted on their canopies. But the Evil Skulls are all gone now. Or so it is said.

Sometimes, when the moon is full and the air is cold, you can hear ECake's Hellcat chugging along just above the tree-line, searching for a straggling Skull pilot to kill. Some say he's dead and buried, but some say he's still out there, the last of his kind, the last "Skull Aggressor", forever doomed to fly his ghost plane in the dark skies of the war zones. When the night air blows across the tarmac you can still hear his mournful cry...."Something Evil your way comes."
