This Discipline allows the vampire to exude a kind of supernatural attraction
or repulsion. It stirs the emotions of those around her, making them more
susceptable to the vampire's "suggestions". Unlike Dominate
however, this vampire may work on more than one person, and indeed entire
crowds. Also, it is not limited by Generation,
allowing, in theory, for a Neonate to bring an Elder under her sway. Again,
unlike Dominate, this power does not focus on overpowering the subject's
mind, but rather manipulating the his emotions. Thus, the subject can still
retain his passion and initiative, but is could concievable become infatuated
with the vampire to a "fatal" degree. Anyone can resist the effects of
presence but only by spending a Willpower
point and succeeding in a Willpower roll (Difficulty
8) for as long as he is in the vampires presence (no pun intended). Some
of the possessors of this power include: the Brujah,
Followers
of Set, Toreador,
and Ventrue.
Awe
This power amplifies the magnetism of the vampire and those around
her desire to be closer, and are more willing to accept and agree with
he point of view. This power is an excellent way to sway entire crowds,
though they do not lose their autonomy. Those who were affected by Awe
will remember how they felt in the vampire's presence however and might
pose a problem if the characters meet again.
Roll Charisma + Performance (Difficulty 7). The number of Successes indicates how many people are affected. If more people are present than the vampire can bring under his sway, then those with the lowest Willpower are affected first. Consult the chart below:
1 Success-----1 person.
2 Successes--2 people.
3 Successes--6 people.
4 Successes--20 people.
5 Successes--Everyone in the immediate
vicinity (auditorium, mob,etc.).
Dread Gaze![]()
Though any vampire can frighten off individuals by revealing their
true form (brandishing fangs, claws, etc.), this power amplifies that to
a startling degree. Even the most brave can be forced to flee in utter
panic, or be frozen in fear.
Roll Charisma
+ Intimidation,
Difficulty
of the victim's Witts
+ Courage.
Success means the victim is terrified, failure means the victim is startled
but not terrified. Three or more successes and the victim runs away in
terror, he blocked in, the victim claws at walls trying to get away. Also,
he is a -1 Dice on all actions while under
the affects of Dread Gaze. The vampire may continue to enact this power
(re-roll) to further subjugate her victim until he runs out of Dice
and is reduced to a quivering pile of weeping jelly on the floor.
Entrancement![]()
![]()
This power allows the vampire to bend other to her will. The subject
does what he is told out of "love" for the vampire, and thus he becomes
the vampires willing servant. Though these servants are more passionate
and retain their initiative, they can be unpredictable. Furthermore, once
the power fades, the subject might become a bit of a problem.
Roll Appearance + Empathy, Difficulty of the subject's Willpower. The number of successes determines the length of time the subject is Entranced. Consult the chart below:
1 Success----One hour.
2 Successes--One day.
3 Successes--One week.
4 Successes--One month.
5 Successes--One year.
Summon![]()
![]()
![]()
The vampire can demand the immediate presence of any individual she
has ever met, and they will do all they can to get there as fast as possible.
The subject will intuitively know where to go and the call can work over
vast distances (though it is much more effectively when done locally).
The power discipates at dawn, and for long trips the vampire must continue
to Summon each night until the subject arrives.
Roll Charisma + Leadership*, Difficulty 5, 7 for near strangers, 4 if Summon has be successfully used on them in the past. The Difficulty rises to 8 if Summon was unsuccessful before. Consult the chart below:
1 Success----The subject approaches slowly,
reluctantly.
2 Successes--The subject approaches slowly
and is easily thwarted by obstacles.
3 Successes--The subject approaches with
reasonable speed.
4 Successes--The subject approaches with
haste, overcoming all obstacles.
5 Successes--The subject rushes to the
vampire doing anything to get to her.
Majesty![]()
![]()
![]()
![]()
At this level, the vampire exudes an overwhelming aura of awe, fear,
attractiveness, and obediance, all at once. Anyone within 20 feet of the
vampire with a line of sight automaticly falls under the sway of the vampire's
Majesty. With this power, the beautiful become irresistable, and the monsterous
become horrifying. those under the power's sway would not dare speak against
the vampire lest it displeases her, nor will they do anything to bring
her harm.
No Roll is required, but the vampire must
spend a Willpower
point to activate it. The effects last for the entire scene. Those who
chose to challenge the effects must Roll Charisma
+
Intimidation
to say anything rude or disagree with whatever the vampire says. Success
allows the subject to act normally for a moment but the actions will weigh
heavily on his concious, while a failure will make the subject go to great
lengths to humble herself before the vampire.
