Without a doubt, they are the lords of the Camarilla. When the Inquisition raged across the Old World, the Ventrue provided the cornerstone for the Camarilla and helped to organize the rest of the clan into the fledgeling organization. Since then they have maintained their high position and status with the sect.

If nothing else, the Ventrue are power players. They are drawn to politics and money and retain the most control over mortal institutions than any other clan. They also hold a great deal of sway in Kindred society. In fact, to this night, most Princes hail from this noble clan. Accordingly, a great deal of what goes wrong with Kindred society is often placed at their feet.

In nights of yor, the Ventrue embraced from nobility or wealthy merchant families. In the modern nights, they embrace influencial politicans, ruthless corprate climbers, and members of "Old Money" families.

Though not as stylish or trendy as the Toreador, the Ventrue nonetheless dress exquisitly, making use of vast closets filled with expensive suits and fine jewelery. Younger Ventrue will also dress "Preppy"  when out of the boardroom.

Because of their prominant role in Kindred Society, Ventrue are often the first targets of the enemies of the Sect, as well as the scapegoats for problems within the sect. The Ventrue, however, shoulder this burdon with the nobility that is their birthright and press on night after night. They beleve that it is their supreme purpose in the universe to shepard the other kindred, who are too brash and present-minded to know what's best. Many kindred believe that the clan as a whole suffers from some sort of "Martyr Complex".

Disciplines: Dominate, Fortitude, Presence

Apptitude: +1 with commands. Add one die to all Social rolls to lead or command others. This includes many uses of  Dominate.

Advantage: Wealth.Once per story, a Ventrue may access a large amount of funds via a Swiss bank account or a stash hidden in some floor safe, and so forth.

Weakness: Feeding Restriction. After the embrace, the vampire instinctively becomes aware that only one type of human wil nurish him (this is chosen at character creation by the player) such as only that of young women or blond men, though he may drink of any vampire blood. Even if forced to imbibe blood that is not his type, he will gain no nurishment from it and more than likely end up gagging it up all over someone's floor.

This & That: Ventrue are often seen as oppressive, stuck up, and tight-assed, by other clans. The clan also has a well deseved reputation for debating issues to death and only reluctantly taking action. Younger Ventrue in particular often feel stiffled as Elders have been intrenched in their places of power for decades. Many of them of them often pool their resources together and invest in new markets and ventures were the Elders have no claim. It is considered beyond disrespectful for a young upstart to try to wrest control of a certain venture from an elder, unless of course, the upstrat succeeds. Some of the more noted Ventrue traditions include the celebration of one's "Embrace Night". These parties can range to formal gatherings rampid orgies of sin and debochery. It is also customary for any Ventrue to give assistance or protection to any clanmate who requests it. This is dangerous considering that the one in need will be indebted to the other, and the Ventrue play the game of Prestation better than anyone.

Nickname: Blue Bloods

Character Creation: The Ventrue prize Social and Mental Attributes equally as well as Skills and Knowledges. Backgrounds however are "the thing" for Ventrue. In particular: Resources, Fame, Retainers, Mentor, Influence, and Status, are coveted.

Organization: The Ventrue rank just under the rigid Tremere in this area. Some Ventrue take particular joy in organizing Conclaves or other meetings. Ventrue gatherings are exceedingly lavish and are often design to "one up" another Ventrue's gaathering. Generally, the clan likes to meet often, usually on the every Tuesday. They gather at the "Boardroom" which is essentially a rented or owned  office spaces or "country clubs", were the they discuss clan issues in the city. Also, at the end of each year, all Ventrue are invited to join a sort of Clan Convention in London.

Concerns: The Camarilla is their chief concern. Because of the their high position in the sect, the clan is often occupied with it's in's and out's. The Sabbat and Anarchs also weigh heavily on their minds as these enemies constantly lay seige to Camarilla cities. The Tremere also seem to be making a successful bid for power within the sect, creating an unspoken, but intense rivalry.

Bloodlines: Ventrue Antitribu.

Lightbulb Joke: How many Ventrue does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Seven. Six to sit on the commitee, and one to get his Ghoul to do it.
