A clan forever shouded in mystery and secrecy. The Tremere were once a cabal of mortal mages belonging to the Order of Hermes. House Tremere as it was then known, sought the secret of immortality and became aware of the imortal creatures that called themselves Kindred. The Tremere Goratrix was able to capture a Tzimisce elder using powerful magicks and after several nights of torture was able to attain the secret of the Embrace. Goratrix then took his findings back to his lord Tremere a few rituals later, Clan Tremere was founded. The Clan's crimes did not go unnoticed, particularly by the Tzimisce, and a great war was waged against them. It was only through their powerful magicks were they able to hold off their adversaries, but their losses were great. Though the war has died down, it has never come to an end, as fighting is inevitable whenever these to clans come into contact.

The crimes of the Tremere do not stop there. After years in the vampiric state, Tremere himself became aware of much of the history of the Kindred, particularly of the Antideluvians. After much searching and research, he was able to determine the location of several of the ancient havens of these mythical beings. He determined that the crypt of Saulot was the least guarded and began planning it's infiltration. What happened next is not exactly known. The Tremere fought there fought there way into the tomb and there, it is said, that Tremere Diablerized Saulot himself. There are several accounts that the Antideluvian did not even put up a struggle, that he simply allowed it to happen. After all, how could a creature of such godlike power, be bested so easily. More strange, are the rumors that Tremere himself has began to change. Rumors abound that he has grown the legendary Third Eye of the Salubri, and that his entire body is infact transforming into...something else. Regardless, he now suffers from long fits of torpor that can last months, even years. After these events, the Tremere began spreading slander against the Salubri in an attempt protect their dark secret. The clan was pericuted harshly and was almost extinct. But those who survived remember, and their anger has not subsided.

When the Camarilla formed, the Tremere jumped at the opportunity to join if nothing else but for the protection it offered. Not to mention that their arch enemies the Tzimisce elected to join the Sabbat. In fact, many Tremere came that it was they who created the Camarilla. The Tremere made enemies of a third clan when the newly formed Camarilla Inner Circle ordered them find a way to stop the wanton diablerie of the Assamites. The Tremere cursed them, making Kindred blood like poison to them, thus denying them their most sacred sacrament.

These nights the Tremere continue their quest for power within the Camarilla , much at the expense of the Ventrue. The rivalry. though unspoken and genteel, nonetheless threatens to undermind the sect as a whole. Most Kindred still do not trust them as rumors of strange magickal  rights and rituals filter out into the general Kindred population. And many Kindred would perfer the Ventrue over the "Clan comes forst" Tremere. Not that the Tremere give them a coice when they take over.

Disciplines: Auspex, Dominate, Thaumaturgy

Apptitude: +1 with scholasticism. Add one die to all Mental tasks involving scholarly knowledge (research, occult lore, science, deciphering languages, etc.).

Advantage: Wizard's Familiar. All Tremere are taught a ritual to create a familiar. A familiar is a small creature alchemically created from the vampire's blood. Some familiars look like black cats, others look like bats, and still others resemble grotesque little horned gargoyles. A familiar is usually about the size of a cat; it has ratings of 1 in all Traits, but when dodging or sneaking, its Physical is considered to be 4. It has four Health Levels and takes one die of pain penalties per Health Level lost. A familiar can telepathically communicate with its master when within 50 feet of her. Familiars are most commonly used as spies. If slain, a familiar can be re-created via a five-night ritual and the expenditure of five Blood Points (one per night).

Weakness:  Hierarchy. All Tremere are expected to be loyal to the Seven Elders who rule the clan - but just in case, all Tremere are required to drink the blood of the Seven Elders. A Tremere character must make a Psychic roll to resist a direct command from a Tremere elder (Difficulty varies). Additionally, Tremere elders need spend one fewer Blood Point than usual when using Dominate powers against recalcitrant younglings.

This & That: Every October all Tremere join psychicly into a kind of "Hive Mind" that lasts for seven days. It is an eerie sight for outsiders as one Tremere will seemingly speak with several voices at once. Along with thier potent Thaumaturgy, Tremere can also conduct Rituals that can have extremely useful effects. Because of the Hiearchy, Tremere can also expect to be taught in the arcane arts, but individual Tremere have as much to fear from the fellow clan mates as they do outsiders and are at times reluctant to share their secrets and knowledge. The Tremere that falls will be stepped on by everyone trying to reach the next level.

Nickname: Warlocks

Character Creation: Mental Attributes, high Willpower, and Knowledges serve the Warlocks best.

Organization: This is definately their bag baby. The Tremere organize themselves to a kind of pyramid with Tremere himslef at the top, the Council of Seven below him and so on down to the youngest Neonate. The chain of command is very well defined and is expected to be adhered to at all times without exception. No Tremere who wants to live will ever disobay her elders. The clan is based in Vienna, the main Chantry is located there. There are also Chantries located on every continent with the exception of Asia (there was on in Hong Kong but was lost when China retook control of the island). These Chantries are equal parts dormitory, library, lab, and stronghold. The head of the Chantry is the Regent, above him is a Lord who controls several Chantries, above him is one of the forty-nine the Pontifex', and above them, the Council of Seven. Who are rumored to be constantly linked telepathicly.

Concerns: Let's see: the Tzimisce, Salubri, Assamites, and the Ventrue. This clan excels in making enemies for itself. Despite all that, they are very concerned perpetuation fo the Camarilla. Many of them are also Noddist scholars can not help but notice all the tell tale signs of  Gehenna beginning to emerge. It is rumored that the Tremere scower the globe for the prophesised woman with teh mark of the Crescent Moon on her neck.

Bloodlines: None. Up until 1997, there was a Tremere Antitribu, but apparently, all of them seem to have met with sudden and fiery ends.

Lightbulb Joke: How many Tremere does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Seven. After the proper ritual of course.
