The damnedest of the damned. It is said that in the First Nights, Nosferatu was the most beautiful being on Earth, but because of some monsterous deed, Caine cursed he and his childer to forever wear that monsterosity on their collective visage. Because of this, the Nosferatu inhabit the underground of the cities, the sewers, subways, far from the eyes of Kine and Kindred. It has also become tradition to many Nosferatu to only embrace those horrid mortals who must be taught a lesson: the corrupt, murderous, or vain. Though there many accounts of Nosferatu embracing the most beautiful for simple spite. Regardless, the transformation is long and painful as for a week the mortal's body is twisted and conorted into a repulsive state that is unique to the individual Nos. Once it is done, it can be undone. Even the flesh crafting Discipline of Vicissitude causes only temporary changes. By the next sundown, the vampire has reverted to it's previous form.

Because of their curse, the Nosferatu are a close knit clan, even those of the Antitribu frequently and civilly interact with their Camarilla counterparts.  Their havens are underground strongholds that are often layered with traps and defenses. Nosferatu are also fond of turning bodies of water that are common drinking places for animals, into "Spawning Pools", by dropping some of their Vitae into it. The result is vast numbers of Ghouled vermon that will only obey their master. These creatures can then be used as spies or guards since the blood gives animals as it does humans special powers.

The Nosferatu are dealers of information, their expertise in Obfuscate allows them to snoop on other Kindred, appear as anybody or nothing at all. And they well sell their information to the highest bidder, the price is usually more information. Many Kindred seek out the Nosferatu for the special services they can provide and many are not above accentuating their repulsiveness to watch their would be customers squirm. The Nosferatu also share thier information with eachother making it very difficult to kill any secret that they might get wind of. As a matter of fact, the Nos have been investing heavily in the Shreck.NET, wiring one brood to another online to increase the speed and flow of information.

Disciplines: Animalism, Obfuscate, Potence

Apptitude: +1 with stealth. Nosferatu are natural sneaks and may add one die to all situations involving hiding, moving silently, or other stealth-related feats.

Advantage: Horrid Visage. When first confronting potential opponents or prey (appearing from invisibility, stepping out in front of them, etc.), the Nosferatu may roll six dice (Difficulty of the target's Psychic +2). If this roll succeeds, the opponent is so stunned with terror and disgust that he may take no action for one turn.

Weakness: Loathsome. Appearance of  0 that can never be raised.*

This & That: Each Nosferatu's ugliness is quite unique to the individual, from discustingly scary, to scarily comical. One Nos may look like Mr. Burns after a Napalm bath (shot out to Herbie *grin*) while other look like they had the worst case of Acne in history.

Nickname: Sewer Rats

Character Creation: Physical and Mental Attributes are typically primary. Stealth and Survival are also extremely prized. Though usually not very important to the Nosferatu, a few Backgrounds such as Retainers (Ghouled animals) and Contacts are coveted.

Organization: The Sewer Rats do meet often but not in the formal sense as would the Ventrue or Tremere, they usually gather to exchange information or discuss an issue here or there. Though typically loners, some Nosferatu live in groups called "Broods" for mutual defense or some other utility.

Concerns: Because of their roles as information gathers, the Nosferatu know far too much about what is happening in Kindred society not to have any concerns. If there is something wrong, chances are they know about it and are worriedly discussing it. Although one specificly Nos concern is that of the Nicktuku. As lore has it, these are the their Antideluvian's other childer who are so disfigured and monsterous that they make your average Nos look like swimsuit models by comparison. Ancient and powerful, these creatures scower the globe, hunting their less horrid bretheren. And Nicktuku accounts are on the rise of late.

Bloodlines: Nosferatu Antitribu

Lightbulb Joke: How many Nosferatu does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

"Uh...actually, they look better in the dark."
