"What the hell happened?" is the question often asked by the elders of other clans when speaking about the Brujah. In nights long gone they were a clan of Scholars and Philosophers. They were the intellectuals of the Kindred. But as time pressed forward, they felt the need to create a kind of warrior caste within themselves and thus began searching out those mortals with the temperment and zeal most suited for battle. They embraced those with the most fiery emotions and undaunting passion. They wanted those who would fight for their cause and protect the Elders of the clan. In the end this strategy backfired upon them and the clan began to change. One their Warrior Brujah Troile, even diablerized their Antideluvian.

For Centuries the clan tried to balance it's two facets, that of warrior, and that of scholar. They were quite successful at this and their reputation as Warrior-Philosophers was renowned. They founded the City of Carthage and celebrated a golden age of peace and opennes. Their all clans, as well mortals and Kindred could live side by side in complete harmony. But the Brujah began to practice, or turn a blind eye to those who did, demonic rites that could threaten the entire world. The Ventrue, in control of the Roman Empire began to wage war against the Brujah. Alone they were no match for them and were repeled numerous times. In fact, the pushed back and almost reached Rome itself. The Ventrue began to recruit help from the other clans (strangely, it was the Malkavians who were first to inlist) and with their help drove the Brujah back to Carthage and laid seige on the city. With one final betrayal at the hands of the Toreador, the Brujah were defeated and Carthage was burned to the growned and the earth salted. Those Brujah elders old enough to remember Carthage still hold their grudge against those who destroyed their utopia. They also hold the Ventrue and Toreador with special contempt.

The Brujah have tried several times to recreate the glory of Carthage and have continually failed. All this failure has bred in them a certain frustration that persists to the modern nights. Modern Brujah are divided into roughly two groups: the Idealists, who retain their interest in scholarship, and the Iconoclasts, who are the street punks and bikers that have become the most common manifestation of the Brujah. Within their blood however lingers the desire to fight for a cause and often they will adopt some cause whether it be Communism or pissing off the local Prince. Centuries of frustration and betrayal has created a tight bond between the Brujah and thus they are fanatically loyal to one another. Take one on, and you might very well have to take on all of them. They have very short fuses are often capable of answering some witty remark form a Toreador with a wack upside the head. Because of this however, the other clans give the Brujah a little more leiway. Much like you would a spoiled child throwing a tantrum. Just don't let them hear you say that.

Disciplines: Celerity, Potence, Presence

Apptitude:  +1 with combat. Brujah are natural fighters; when in combat, a Brujah may add one die to any one action taken per turn.

Advantage: Blood Rage. A Brujah may spend a Blood Level to enter a semicontrolled form of frenzy. While under the Blood Rage, the vampire may ignore the effects of pain, but must attack foes directly, without missiles or non-Physical Disciplines.

Weakness: Blood Madness. Brujah anger much more quickly than other vampires do. All difficulties to resist frenzy increase by one (maximum 6).

This & That: Though the Ventrue have the most control over mortal institutions, and the Toreador like to surround themselves with them, the Brujah perhaps are the ones that deal with humans the most on an individual bases. While the Ventrue might control the Mayoral candidate, the Brujah will know the name of his heroine dealer.

Nickname: Rabal

Character Creation: Lets get Physical. You need those Attributes for all the ass-woopin' they do. Some are more Mental. Skills, Knowledges and Allies are cool too.

Organization: There is no organization to speak of. On the few occassions when Brujah do meet they are usually at gatherings they call Rants. These are generally open to all Kindred but can often degeneration to slug-fests. Also, Rants are almost never planned but simply just happen at gathering with high concentrations of Brujah like at Raves or Concerts.

Concerns: In addition to whatever pet cause the Brujah might have, some Idealists still long for the days of Carthage and seek to create a new Kindred utopia. Also, the Brujah make up a large chunk of the Anarch ranks and it has been suggested more than once that the clan leave the Camarilla.

Bloodlines: Brujah Antitribu, True Brujah

Lightbulb Joke: How many Brujah does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

"Change your own damn lightbulb!" *SULK*
