Report of the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society

kkjjjjjkjjjkSponsored Walk. jjjjhjjjjjjjhh

The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society's Sponsored Walk took place on Sunday 20th June, at Barbury Castle, in Swindon.

There were two walks to choose from; a short one of about 3 miles, and a longer one, which was 10 miles long.

The route we chose led across open countryside, through Ogbourne St. George, Ogbourne St. Andrew, past the road to Marlborough, across more countryside, over a few hills, and bac again to the start.

We all set off eagerly at first, but soon regreted taking the long walk! The entire trek took 3hours for the ten miles. There were lots of interesting things during the walk; as a result of a rough drive an upside down jeep, splattered with mud; tons of farm animals living peacefully in enormous fields; patterns and colours displayed in squares of grass.

The worst thing in the walk for me, was the rough uneven track; dips and ditches were common, and I nearly tripped over about a million times!

I was sponsored mostly by family, as well as some of my parent's friends. I managed to make of total of £31! I went with my parents and my little brother; very adventurous for five years old!

I would have never have survived without that delicious strawberry Cornetto at the end!
