This is a little project of mine that I think might help customize your play somewhat. Here is a collection of Down In Flames Pilot Heads, suitable for Squadron Leader or regular play. To download the image to your machine, just right click on it and select "Save Image as....". Next, print them on a color printer and glue to cardboard. Cut them out and use them as you would any counter. You may wish to put a piece of transparent tape on top of the counter to prevent the printer ink from smearing with use.
Note: these are scaled a little larger than the actual counters in the game. You may wish to reduce the scale somewhat using an image editing software. I generally don't bother.
Axis: Here are a Spanish Civil War era Condor Legion pilot, a ME 110 pilot, and Hans Ulrich Rudel, Stuka Ace. Rudel is a repeat, but a different picture, so why not?
