On September 1, 1999, the DCI, obviously besieged by the recent onslaught of 'Free Kird Ape!' from the Extended format banned list requests, took the easy way out by simply adding the entire Revised (3rd) Edition card set to the banned from Extended format list. Fortunately, we can still make a case in our efforts to return Kird Ape to at least the Extended card pool.

The Pirates of WackyChan propose that Kird Ape be added to the list of 10 cards (also known as 'dual lands') currently exempt from the recent format change in Extended. We feel as though the Kird Ape deserves consideration to be added to this exempt list due to its unjust removal from the Extended card pool to begin with. As long as the exempt list exists, we have hope that the Kird Ape will again be played in Extended decks throughout the world. Our argument is this: the DCI -owes- Kird Ape some well deserved action in Extended decks for the two-years it sat neglected on the DCI banned list. Please join us in putting pressure on the DCI to include Kird Ape in the October 1st Extended format. It's the right thing to do.
