ICC Centre Review
I am not going to bore you with a long report on ICC but I have to say that it is the best PC cricket game on the market. After buying the EA Sports cricket series and being thoroughly dissapointed by both, cricket 97' being worse than 96', I was looking for a cricket game to play on my PC. I went out and bought ICC and the first night I had it, I played it until 2am. I think as a fan of statistics it was exactly what the cricket game world needed.
In terms of the graphics, I think if EA had of gone more along the lines of ICC's highlights instead of there american graphics cricket 97' would have been a much better game. The animation is reasonably good, I love watching the hook shot. However when caught at slip or behind, the keeper and slips fieldsman appear to run and catch the bal, this is not so good. I give the graphics 7/10
The sound is probably the worst part about the game. Although the commentary sounds good at first, it is very repetitive and although the sound of the ball hitting the bat for a good shot sounds good, it is the same sound for an edge, making for a very unrealistic sound. I give the sound 5/10
The playability is what I like most about the game. I like the draft at the end of the season where you pick some young players and see if they are superstars and score centuries on debut or duds who get ducks on debut. Also I like it when a challenge arises, where you are 5/50 in a county game and have to play defensively for a while to get yourself out of trouble or where the oppostion is 2/300 and you need quick wickets. I give the playability 10/10
Overall I think this one of the best computer games I have ever played. It extends the good idea of the creator of ITC and makes it great. Overall I give the game 8/10. It gets a total of 30/40.
